The Billy Bishop Tunnel project involved building, financing, operating, and maintaining a pedestrian tunnel connecting Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Toronto’s downtown waterfront. The tunnel runs approximately 31 m below ground level from the foot of Eireann Quay to the escalator lobby in the airport. In addition to the pedestrian tunnel, the project included the elevator, escalator and stairwell shafts, connecting structures, retail space and a reconfiguration of circulation areas.
