Raging River is an 8 MW run-of-river hydroelectric project located in Port Alice, British Columbia. Water accumulates in a reservoir upstream from the dam and is released through a steel penstock into the powerhouse, where it is converted into energy using two Francis-type turbines manufactured in Germany. The renewable power generated is then routed to BC Hydro’s main grid through an overhead transmission line, where 100% of it is sold under a long-term power purchase agreement.
