The company developed, owns and operates the largest Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in the United Kingdom, processing approximately 750,000 tonnes of London’s household and commercial waste annually. The waste is converted into heat and approximately 525,000 MWh of electricity per annum. An additional 19,500 tonnes of metals are recovered and recycled, as well as 175,000 tonnes of ash used by the construction industry as building aggregates. Unique to the asset is that it uses the River Thames as a green highway, transporting waste to the facility utilizing a fleet of tugs and barges, removing approximately 100,000 truck movements a year off congested London roads. The company is uniquely positioned to respond to London’s structural waste processing shortage by further developing the site with additional EfW capacity.
